Catherine Wells practices in the area of employment law and is a member of Wolff & Samson’s Employment and Litigation Groups. As a commercial litigator, Catherine represents management in all types of employment-related matters, including wrongful discharge, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues and other business-related torts before the state and federal courts and administrative agencies in New Jersey.

In addition to her litigation practice, she counsels employers in connection with the development and implementation of employment policies, training programs and other workforce management issues.

Catherine is a frequent lecturer on employment law topics. She hosts Wolff & Samson’s Employer’s Breakfast Briefing Series, a forum for employers to discuss critical employment law topics confronting their businesses. Recent topics include “Reductions in Force: The Legal and Practical Considerations,” “Navigating the Family and Medical Leave Act Amendments,” “Preventing Harassment in the Workplace” and “Conducting Effective Internal Investigations.”

Catherine is recognized in the 2011 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business in the area of Labor & Employment law. In 2009, NJBIZ named Catherine as one of New Jersey’s “Best 50 Women in Business," and in 2010 and 2011, Catherine was selected for inclusion in “The Top 50 Women” in New Jersey Super Lawyers, where she has been listed for the past five years. She has an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest ranking of both ethical standards and legal ability that Martindale awards.

Catherine currently serves on the Board of Directors of Prevent Child Abuse - NJ.  She formerly served on the Executive Board of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association and was a member of the Employer’s Advisory Council of the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.  She is currently a member of the Society of Human Resources Management and the Garden State Council Society of Human Resources Management.

Catherine graduated cum laude from Seton Hall University and magna cum laude from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was a member of the Constitutional Law Journal.
