David Ravin’s law practice at Wolff & Samson is concentrated in the areas of debtor/creditor relations, commercial litigation and financial transactional negotiations.
He handles workouts on behalf of both lenders and borrowers, and helps clients avoid the expense, distraction and business dislocation of bankruptcy. He is a business-oriented lawyer who knows how to settle cases when possible and litigate if necessary.
Many of David’s clients seek his counsel on how to deal with companies that are close to insolvency. In addition, he has successfully guided debtors in a number of complicated Chapter 11 reorganizations.
David’s experience includes:
- Providing national bankruptcy counsel to a large office building REIT, one of the world’s largest general contractors and a project supervisor with respect to their respective tenants, owners and subcontractors who become involved in bankruptcy
- Representing landlords in the recent Allied Van Lines, IndyMac, Fremont General and People’s Choice Chapter 11 bankruptcies
- Providing counsel to various individuals involved in management and boards of directors of public and close corporations
- Representing HSBC in the ongoing Solomon Dwek et al bankruptcy
David frequently counsels potential corporate debtors with respect to bankruptcy and avoidance (preference and fraudulent transfer) issues and provides advice on out-of-court workouts.
He lectures on various facets of the bankruptcy practice and its impact on every field of law. He presented seminars at the Third Circuit Judicial Conference, New Jersey State Bar Association Creditor Debtor Committee, New Jersey Practicing Law Institute and The New Jersey Venture Association.
David has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for 11 consecutive years in the areas of Bankruptcy and Creditor/Debtor rights and Bankruptcy Litigation and has an AV® rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest ranking of both ethical standards and legal ability that Martindale awards.
