Farah Ansari is a Wolff & Samson attorney who practices in the areas of taxation, ERISA and employee benefits, and trusts and estates law. She provides advice to businesses and individuals on issues relating to corporate taxation (both C corporations and S corporations), partnership taxation, individual taxation at the federal and state levels, non-profit taxation and international taxation. Her experience includes providing counsel on the tax issues involved in entity formations, liquidations, asset sales, mergers and day-to-day business planning. She also provided tax guidance in connection with a sale-leaseback transaction.
Farah is experienced in handling both federal and state tax controversies. She represents clients before the taxing authorities, in audits and in negotiating settlements, and has appeared in New Jersey Tax Court.
In addition, Farah provides guidance on various employee benefit and compensation issues. She recently provided detailed guidance and amended agreements to help clients comply with Section 409A of the Internal Revenue Code. Her practice also covers various aspects of trusts and estates, including estate planning, estate litigation and estate administration.
In October 2011, Farah was elected to serve as the Asian Pacific American Lawyers Association of New Jersey's representative on the Supreme Court Committee on the Tax Court. She was also selected for inclusion in the 2011 edition of New Jersey Super Lawyers -- Rising Stars.
Farah received her J.D. from Rutgers School of Law – Newark, where she was an editor of the Rutgers Law Review, a board member of the Rutgers Moot Court Board, and a teaching and research assistant for Legal Research & Writing.
