John Lukanski manages a diverse mix of litigation and regulatory matters and also conducts internal corporate investigations.  He is a member of Wolff & Samson’s Litigation Department and its Financial Services Litigation and Investigations Group, as well as the Restrictive Covenant, Trade Secret and Unfair Competition Group.  He has been at the firm his entire career.

While a good portion of John's practice involves the financial services industry, John handles matters in many other sectors, including technology, accounting, entertainment, manufacturing, casino, railroad and insurance.  For example, he has worked with many clients in restrictive covenant, non-compete and trade secret matters filed throughout the U.S. in federal and state courts and arbitral forums.

Since the beginning of his career, John has represented broker dealers of securities in many different matters, involving various products and services, including:

  • managing internal investigations;
  • managing responses to formal inquiries made by the SEC, SROs, and State regulators;
  • managing litigations and arbitrations with customers, former employees, other Member firms, and third parties;
  • providing compliance counseling; and
  • investigating and providing responses to customer complaints.

John has also proudly served for the last three years as a Member overseeing the firm's Pro Bono program, which includes providing legal advice to many worthwhile causes, including child advocacy and humanitarian projects.

John is a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School and earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University.
