Joseph Zawila’s practice at Wolff & Samson is concentrated in the fields of commercial real estate, banking and finance. He has extensive experience representing both buyers and sellers in structuring, documenting and closing complex real estate transactions.

Joe also counsels institutional lenders, borrowers and developers in various commercial lending transactions, including real estate acquisition loans, asset-based loans, construction financing and mezzanine financing. In addition, he often represents lenders in public finance transactions, particularly where real estate or credit enhancement is involved.

Representative transactions on which Joe advised include:

• Representing an institutional lender in connection with a loan facility to finance the acquisition of a division of a large pharmaceutical company
• Representing a surety company in connection with a complex collateral transaction involving the development of a large tract of land in New York state
• Representing an owner in connection with its sale of a shopping center in New Jersey in an Umbrella Partnership Real Estate Investment Trust (UPREIT) transaction
• Representing an owner in connection with its sale of a shopping center outparcel in Pennsylvania
• Representing an institutional lender in connection with construction financing for a multibuilding residential apartment complex in New Jersey
