Nancy Del Pizzo practices in the areas of intellectual property and commercial litigation at Wolff & Samson.
Nancy represents clients on various intellectual property matters, including trademark, trade dress and copyright infringement, domain name disputes, source codes, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition, defamation, libel and trade libel. She also drafts intellectual property-related agreements, such as licensing, sponsorship and computer software agreements, and drafts and files copyright registrations. In addition to the intellectual property area, her litigation experience includes securities matters, such as FINRA and other federal actions, and complex commercial disputes.
Nancy and fellow Wolff & Samson attorney Peter E. Nussbaum co-authored the following articles: “Today’s Reverse Confusion Doctrine,” that appeared in Bloomberg Law Reports -Intellectual Property on April 30, 2007, and “Keyword Advertising ‘Use in Commerce’: A Pro Plaintiff Trend Emerges,” that appeared in the American Bar Association’s Intellectual Property Litigation newsletter, Vol. 20, No. 2, Winter 2009.
Recently, Nancy was named a member of the 2009-2010 Legislative Committee and was elected vice chair for the 2010-2011 Executive Board of the NJ Bar Association's GLBT Rights Section.
In 2007, the New Jersey Occupational Therapy Association presented Nancy with its President’s Award For Outstanding and Committed Service for her pro bono work.
Before joining Wolff & Samson, Nancy served as a judicial law clerk in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey for Judge Barbara Byrd Wecker.
While at Seton Hall University School of Law, she served as managing editor of the Journal of Sports & Entertainment Law, where her article, “Developing a Uniform Test for ‘Reverse Confusion’ Trademark Cases in the Sports and Entertainment Industries,” was published in 2004. She also served as evening vice president on the Executive Board of the Student Bar Association, and interned in the U.S. District Court, District of New Jersey, for Judge William J. Martini. Nancy was named as a 2011 "Rising Star" in New Jersey Super Lawyers.
Prior to her career as an attorney, Nancy operated a sole proprietorship as a writer, editor and consultant, specializing in health, medicine and fitness with an emphasis on eye care and eyewear. She provided writing, editing and consulting services for organizations of various sizes, including Fortune 500 companies, and published hundreds of articles in consumer and trade magazines and newspapers.
