Scott received his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where he was an associate notes editor of the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal. He graduated with a B.A. in political science from the University of Michigan.

Scott served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Ruth Pickholz, New York State Supreme Court, Criminal Term.
